I have many containers and they are so wet from spring rains. It has been warm the last two days so I opened the containers to dry out. Should I keep them uncovered? Nights are still very cool. Low 40’s. Do I have any hope of germination or are my seeds just goners? I have green moss across the top layer of the jiffy seeding soil In many containers. I did move them to a gangway area to try to keep them dry during the last heavy rains. What can I do next year to improve my chances of more spring flowers. I had the containers in the most sunny spot in my yard since putting them out. I do not know if people cover their containers when it rains In spring. I set out most of the containers in March and early April for some perennial flowers, annuals and tomato plants. I know my soil was not wet when I planted the seeds. I already learned that over wet soil is not good to start with in the past. Thanks in advance for any help. I live in Chicago. Next week highs are going to be low 50’s.
