Is this asparagus?

There's this perennial that is growing along the side of the house. It's been there since we moved in. I've been wondering what is was for a while but just haven't had a chance to figure it out. I'm thinking it looks like asparagus but I'm not very familiar with asparagus. Is that what it is or is it something different.

I'm in zone 6 and I'd say the stuff is about 3ft or more tall.

Yes! Some is ready to be cut off and cooked and enjoyed. Other stalks are already past that stage (already branching) but could still be cut. You could use the parts that are not tough from those. If you cut them you should get some more spears coming up from the ground. They can be cut until the spears that emerge get to be pencil thickness or smaller. Then fertilize and let them grow up into tall bushy "ferns" for the rest of the season. They will die back with winter weather and regrow stalks next spring. It looks like you have some good eating there.
