Help!. Lawn sprinkler issues.

I turned the main water valve on for the season, I put the timer in test mode but no zones would work. What did happen was water would dribble (sprit) out of the heads on the zone that was active by the timer and water would dribble out of a different zone at the same time. When the timer was turned off, water still dribbled out of the heads on that other zone. I had to shut off the water at the main. What could be the cause and how could I get this fixed. Thanks Derek

Good Evening Derek, please describe the type of system / valve controls you have. For ex: is it an older I termatic toner with an index valve where every time you turn the time on .wait.. and then off... it switches the zone?

or do you have individual electric valves with a solenoid for each?

Just from experience it sounds like you may have an index valve and perhaps the internal can is stuck in a position that is allowing water to two zones at once, instead of isolating each zone one at a time.
