You pretty much have your color story: sage green, orange, yellow and other earth tones. Is there room in the budget to re-stain the woodwork/trim to a lighter tone, maybe more of a walnut or redwood color vs. the dark brown you have? It's a little overpowering as an element.

As for wall colors, keep it very light. Look at Benjamin Moore's Sail Cloth or their French Canvas. Soft beiges that are not too yellow.

I would use a warm white, which will coordinate with the orange and green, and also look better with all the wood trim. Look at the grout color on the fireplace. The current color looks too cool and yellow.

I also would use a warm white on the walls. What a lovely home you have!

I would do a sage green not too dark .
