Choosing a Kitchen Appliance Package

Hello, I would love to know how to best balance function, design, brand and budget when choosing appliances. I know I want blk stainless.

Bosch has some nice budget friendly item yet not a nice gas range which is a must have.

Kitchen Aid has a premium line that is beautiful but blows the budget.

Mix brands to meet budget.

Go for it as it’s my forever home?

Some other blend or direction?

HELP, would appreciate and love your suggestions. Thank you.

We went for a full kitchen aid package. I love how they match. But they also work really great. And the best part was we got a deal during their kitchen event which saved us a bundle by buying so many pieces. No regrets at all. I know many don’t agree with the package offerings but for us it was a positive outcome.

We have a 36” commercial range, 30” wall oven, hood fan, microwave, counter depth fridge and dishwasher. Love it all.

I love my Bosch dishwasher. It is water and electricity efficient and reliable for years.

The black stainless might limit you, but it's generally better to mix brands to get good quality and fit your priorities rather than buying all one brand. I have a Bosch dishwasher, a Wolf stove, and KitchenAid wall ovens. They all look fine together. You just need to consider the finishes and handle styles.

Black stainless is a coating, a faux finish. Subject to scratches.

Primary decision is whether to mix brands to get the best of each item in terms of features that fit your needs and/or reputation ... or a same-brand package for price advantage.

Major issue with buying matching appliances is, what happens if one of the appliances dies (it looks like that is increasingly common) and you find that the manufacturer has discontinued the finish and/or handle style.

Zneret then you would have a mixed bag of appliances which many people works great so isn’t really a problem at all...

Really be sure about the finish. "Black" stainless will vary from brand to brand, and as dadoes mentioned, is just a coating. It will scratch, mar, and then be discontinued in a few years down the road when you need or decide to replace one of them.

Black stainless will limit you to one brand. You can't mix and match because every brand is slightly different in color and finish. I really like black stainless and the GE slate and black slate myself but don't know about picking the same brand for every appliance unlike getting regular stainless which you can mix and match

Thank you for all the feedback, I think I need to do some more research on blk stainless. I had a Samsung stainless fridge and it scratched all the time. I love to cook and bake but not a professional. I really value ascetics and function and got sold on the Electrolux years ago by a local high end store and we all know that was crap so I’m a bit hesitant on my choices. Thank you. Keep it coming, this is my first discussion. 😀

Mine was a mixed bag already. Only commonality was S/S and/or black glass.
