I don't have an answer, as we are just researching Maibec Nantucket for our shore house. Would you mind giving your overall opinion on the product? Im worried about maintenance. Thanks. Hope you get an answer to your question!

From our experience thus far, 8 years, the product is holding up well. We haven’t had to do anything yet. Good luck with your project!

Thanks!!! I just read about the class action lawsuits...now I’m concerned about warping and splitting! It’s such a big decision, money-wise, so stressful.

This is our second home with this brand of siding. I agree it’s expensive. But as someone recently told me, everything has a class action lawsuit 🙄

My home has Nantucket series double coated with Maibec Gray. 

I was encouraged to use this product by my lumber yard, due to their stellar reputation and unsurpassed warranty. Unfortunately, both were lies. 

The installation was impeccable. From the shingle exposure, nailing placement, sealing cuts, etc. 

Every single spot on my home with direct sunlight, has literally turned the shingles into potato chips. 

There's hundreds of thousands in remedial work required, inorder to secure my home from the elements.

I’m sorry you are experiencing this. Nothing as frustrating. I hope someone steps up and helps you with this. This just shouldn’t happen. Ask for a rep. from Maibec to come take a look.

Thanks, I've tried redundantly to contact Maibec. They won't reply. I'm forced to retain  engineers, attorneys, and a building consultant. Additionally, I'm notifying every single architect in the tristate area. I feel Maibec committed an outright fraud.

So did you have a building/general contractor on your project? I’d start with him because if you did have one, he must have ordered the materials for your home through a lumber yard. And I’d say he has a salesman he works with. There’s typically a chain of command on a home building project. Do you mind telling me what area of the country you live in? I’m hoping to build a new house soon 🤞🏻and I won’t be putting Maibec siding on it.
