Bona Intense on White Oak

After much research and agonizing I went with Bona Intense on my 4,000 sq ft new construction white oak floors, and couldn’t be more pleased. I was concerned it might be too dark but it a rich natural tone with amazing depth.

we just got it too! was planning on going with a medium brown. had 4 samples painted on my floor and i said, "I like the plain sanded white oak best!" so we did the Bona as well, super happy. and agree, lots of depth, brown and gray.

Beautiful floors will have to consider Bona intense. Shan, for yours did you just go with a Poly then? Trying to decide on a finish for our new floors

    Thanks

Joe, see picture of the products we used. They applied 2 coats of the Traffic which is supposed to be a superb product. Hope so! Also some pics of our house (just moved it so boxes and paint samples in photo!)

That looks great, so they did use both the seal and Traffic

Joe, Yes. one coat of seal and two of traffic, i believe - or it could be vice versa. def 3 coats total

Shan K - we used Bona natural on our white oak floors as well and they came out great. We now are agonizing over what color to stain the handrails going up the stairs to complement the floors. What stain did you use on your handrails? It looks slightly darker and we like that look.

We painted our railing black. We also change the wall color and put a runner up the steps and hung a chandelier. We still love it and floors are in great shape 10 months later

Very nice - I like that pop! You don’t happen to know what color the handrails were stained before you painted them black?

no, but i think just oak wood.

Those floors are beautiful! Did you choose the satin or matte finish?

Absolutely Gorgeous dnorthi !!! Thank you for posting and sharing! Just picked this same finish for our new construction home with 4" white oak floors. Bona Intense Seal with Bona Mega One Finish in Satin, no stain needed. Our entire house besides bathrooms will have hardwood and I wanted it to be timeless and beautiful. But seeing Shan K's floors, now wondering if we should steer to the lighter Natural Seal or Classic Seal instead?

Hi Dnorthi- Do you happen to know what wall color you used? Thanks!

Do you know what they used for wood filler? we are using the same products, but our flooring people haven’t been able to find a filler that looks good with it!
