Hi,

Question from CA resident. I got downspout extension before the rainy season. They are the flex-kind, and have accumulated some dirt inside (small leaves, sand from the roof, etc). Now that the rainy season is over, I am wondering if I need to do anything to take care of them.

If I keep them as they are, I am afraid they will rot from inside. But I am not sure if my thinking is justified. Also I'm not sure if that's good from aesthetics point of view. Although the extensions are matcing the color of house & downspouts.

Anyways I was thinking of giving them a good wash from inside & outside, and keeping them aside till the next season. However I do not have a shed. That means the extensions will be lying in the yard anyways, or I'll have to put them in garage.

I can also wash them, and attach back right after. Not sure what other folks do. Any idea?
