I think your oak window trim and casing looks heavy.(especially w/the heavy brown sofa) why didn't you paint those white?

I like the white/w the gray in the kitchen and would prob leave it.

The dark wood trim work though,,,,I'd seriously be considering painting that

then your fireplace area would look like this

bring in a jute rug, some light furniture, some greenery. beautiful

Thanks for the ideas-I would worry that hale navy would be too dark. It's pretty saturated.

I thought hard about painting the wood trim, but actually really like it.

ok. if you like it, then keep it. I just think the wood, the white and blue look a little separate. like it's trying to hard to blend

You asked about it being too heavy in the kitchen. there is nothing blue in the kitchen for it to relate to like it does in the other room.

what if you did a dark charcoal in the kitchen? Honestly though, I actually like how you have it. maybe bring in a runner w/a bit of color? or a rug under the table?

The kitchen/dining area look wonderful. The living room…meh! The Hale Navy on the wainscoting is too dark, and doesn’t connect with the abutting areas. Keep the paneling the same color…white and paint the wall Hale Navy.

The other issue: you have the white brick fireplace opposite the dark blue cabinet. The two disparate colors make the room unbalanced.

You love the Hale Navy…paint the the shelving white. Then add a large piece of art (no mirror, it isn’t strong in color) on the brick, in the dark navy colors. Voila! Both ends of the room are balanced.

OK, well I didn't ask for advice on that room. I just got done with it and like it very much. I think it's really rude and dismissive to make a comment like "meh" on someone's choices.
