What do the buds look like? To me the buds of the Radiance family are distinctive. At one stage, the sepals at the top sort of curl over and make the bud look something like a little gourd. You can see it in this picture at HMF, especially the bud all the way to the left. And then, as the bud gets larger and bud starts to show color, it's almost as if the sepals look too short--hard to describe.

Yours does look a little too blackish red to be Red Radiance, but not sure what it could be. Wouldn't it be great if it were a new dark red sport??

These are past the stage when the bud looks gourd-like. OTOH, red is a hard color for cameras and monitors. Compare yours to Jeri Jennings pictures in this thread. Hers look darker red, too.

Here is what I call the gourd look. It's also almost like the bud looks twisted...again I'm having trouble describing what I mean. Maybe other roses do this, too, but to me it seems very "Radiance" so maybe it's the only rose I've grown personally that does this.

I'm just throwing this out, but 'Cl. Etoile de Hollande' has not-too-double blooms, deep blackish red, and a strong old rose scent.

Looks like Oklahoma to me. But I'm not sure.
