I wouldn't rule out disease, yet, but these could just be aerial roots, and the wilting could be due to stress from a water or nutrient issue. Can we see pictures or the whole plant and of the wilting leaves?

What is the potting media? Check the moisture of it. (Not just the surface but deeper in) Does it dry out at all? Or has it been staying wet all the time? Do you fertilize? If yes, how often and with what?

I've had warty stems before. I don't know what causes that, but the plant still grew. Possibly a bigger concern is what's happening to the top of the plant. Is something eating it? Also how big is the container? Can you post a closeup of the top leaves.

Where are you. I'm thinking maybe too much heat radiating off the bricks??
