Dining table dilemma

We just got this dining table (bought it online for a good price) and color looks different from pictures. It’s a bit too greyish to me (grey wash acacia) and I don’t like grey wood. Don’t pay attention to the chairs they’re not for this table and Despite that we have different colors and tones of wood everywhere do you think this table will match? It will be a hassle to return it 😕
These are chairs I’m waiting on to arrive.
6 black and 2 red for ends.

Thank you for idea! The table does match the brick, but I feel like it makes the room look dull, looking from all sides. What if changing rug to woven charcoal or natural color and changing the painting which is kind of dull too to something brighter like this?

I actually like your current art better than the other! It’s a cool picture ... interesting. :)

It might be best to get your new chairs in before deciding on a rug. Just to get a look at it all together, then see what you think would work best. I hope you’ll update!

I agree with jinx. the new chairs are going to bring life to the table, though I think the table work great. I also like your current art too. its very fun and with the new red chairs I think it will look awesome. keep us posted once the chairs arrive. how exciting

I really like the rug jinx chose as well, work great with your current artwork....

I do like the rug Jinx posted but I don’t feel like it will match the one where the coach is which is close to dining area. The rug is teal and indigo. I don’t want to make chaos with too many colors and styles in one space :)

I am far from a pro, I only know what I like visually. I do like your table and the fun chairs you’re choosing. Adding a rug as suggested to pull in the colors will help to tie everything. if you still don’t like the color of the table add a nice runner. It’ll detract a bit from the table color.

can you snap a pick of the larger area that show dining and living room together. a few other thoughts... some darker blues with neutrals

Yes, here I got few ones.

I notice how in those pictures the early sunlight makes the table look warmer toned but it really is a lot more white grayish. I found few other tables that I like so perhaps should just go through hassle of returning this one and buy another one that will match other woods. One is brighter the other one is light

gorgeous light coming in to your house.... you have a beautiful home...i dont think you should necessarily exchange the table. the reason is you already have so much of the pine toned wood in the house, ceilings, floor, coffee table. the space could use a different wood tone and the dining table has a bunch of different tones that bring some added texture. more of the same would be too matchy matchy. in the end though, it's your house and your decision. if you do decide you want something different, you may want to consider something like a black table or a white table, just something different from the pine look. maybe a round table to bring in a different shape. heres a few ideas, if you decide you arent happy with the table you have.

Thank you 🙂 I think I will sleep on it. I’m starting to feel the table a bit more everyday. Perhaps the idea is sometimes ‘not to match things’. I’m thinking to have no rug underneath and instead of trying to blend it all together, perhaps to incorporate a little bit of eclecticism and let that different wood stand out.

Thank you all for opinions, I think you actually convinced me to keep this table! I’ll see how it looks with chairs once they arrive..

good idea to wait and see how the chairs change the look and feel. need to see it all in context together... good point... you dont necessarily need a rug under dining table.

one quick thing... you could go with a rug with texture, like a flokati. casual, neutral, very textural and fun with the red chairs you are getting.

So the chairs have finally arrived. Wanted to share how it looks together.

    They look great!

the combination looks great and really like it with the art too. what do you think of the rug with it all?

Thank you! I think the rug looks a bit similar to the flokati rug you posted before. I think the beige and a bit of brown in it works together with the table and chairs, so I’ll just keep it.

One more thought... maybe a larger centerpiece for the table? I see you have some plants on the floor, maybe put one of those on the table, it may be a little too big, but something larger for a centerpiece.

I decided to change my little yellow tulips to dried eucalyptus leaves and big old vase. Makes it quite larger centerpiece.

yes, much larger, very nice. how do you like it? a vase in a color might also expand the size, nice job. it's funny how when the wheels start turning, making little changes can make a big change..
