Chinese Wisteria needs help

I transplanted this Chinese Wisteria and after 6 weeks there is no growth whatsoever. Yet

When I scratch the branches there is definitely green under the bark. I think I cut the roots

Too short and did not cut the branches with any consideration for buds. What can I do now. I

Transplanted from Scarsdale to Danbury, CT.

Keep watering. This season may not get you much beyond some leafing out, as they don't enjoy transplanting, and energy is likely going into replacing some roots. If your soil is not acidic in the new location you might want to try feeding it a bit of phospherous, based on your soil test.

Chinese Wisteria is considered an invasive species.

I think it's beautiful and love to see it. Just be aware that not everyone will "approve" of your choice.

They are almost impossible to kill, even on purpose, so you're probably fine if you keep watering it

LOL - Very fast growing - it grew up my 3 story downspout. Created problems. Easy to fix. It died from cutting back the stem back to the roots.

My decades old Chinese Wisteria hasn't leafed out yet either

BTW - trimming the roots is an old way of encouraging flowering.

Invasiveness of any plant species is very location specific. Chinese wisteria is not a listed invasive species in either NY or CT
