Hi thanks! Yes, the Murphy bed is very comfortable. It is built of a solid plywood base, so we can use a standard mattress. We used a Casper and it’s a comfortable mattress.

Yes, I had a lot of projects, so I learned to tile. The before photo was when we first bought the house...previous owner. I didn't have as many things. But, we have a shed for now, and the next project is my detached garage! I know it seems silly to renovate one garage just to build another, but the attached one was uninsulated, making the house cold, and it was at an angle so you couldn't even pull the car in. It looks and works better as part of the house.

I did radiant heat on the floor and added a heat pump. I didn't have the ability to tie into the heating. You can see here.

Interesting that you did radiant in-floor heating, as that’s what our living area upstairs has, but I don’t know if it possible to tie it into that system if we redo the garage area. We love radiant heat and that’s why we chose the house we did.

And to clarify, it was electric radiant heat. I used two separate mats for the bathroom and the hallway. It was a bit tricky embedding it into the thinset, but I got the hang of it. It keeps the whole area warm and I rarely have to use the heat pump/ac unit. Here is a photo of the thermostat for bathroom

The next thing I’d like to check out is installing a heated towel bar.
