S.W. Dorian Gray has an LRV of 39, which means that when it’s given light to play with, it will lighten up SOME, but not TONS – it doesn’t have a high LRV, it’s a medium-toned paint colour.

I know you were considering grey. As another option, you can try some samples of Benjamin Moore’s Edgecomb Gray. And I like BM’s Natura Line.

I like the suggestion re: going larger for art over sofa, as well as for bringing In linen curtains in a solid color - which you could do a color to complement whatever paint color you choose.

And velvet works well with leather, maybe a couple of velvet pillows in the mix.
