Tansy?

I suppose it could be a variety of tansy, but the tansy images I looked at had lots of flowers at the end of each stem, these have only one flower.

A close up of the flower would be helpful. Are you in Florida?

What color are the flowers? Are they in full bloom?

And I'm in FL, but assuming this is in California, since it's also posted in California Gardening...?

The flower head is about 1-1/2” across. Might open up more in time. I would not sAy it’s at its peak. They are yellowy green. The flowers are on the ends of stalks which come up from the ground.

The foliage looks ferny to me.

Better photos would help, but have a look at achillea millefolium., which is yarrow.

Both yarrow and tansy have a strong herb-y scent to the foliage if bruised or rubbed.

The flower buds are not those of Tansy.

I was thinking it's of one of the Yarrows as well.

If the flowers open up a little more and look any different, I'll post a pic.

Yarrow leaves are more finely cut, IMPE, unless there are other cultivars I am unfamiliar with. I've seen a lot of the yarrow that grows like weeds in CA at my sister's house.

Achillea filipendulina rather than millefolium.

The flowers have turned yellow and opened up somewhat. Just to follow up.
