Especially tasty hosta

I am not sure what it is about this specific hosta, but apparently it is very tasty to something. The other hostas around it have been uneaten. But this one must be a delicacy to some pest. It's a seedling from sunnywood from Chinese Dragon Supreme Yellow and it was a beautiful bright chartreuse yellow last year. I would really like to see it again! But something is eating it. I have tried slug pellets. Last night I went out in the dark with a flashlight to see and the only thing I saw was a HUGE red worm that retreated immediately when I shined the light on it. Do worms eat hostas too? Sheesh! This is a losing battle here. Maybe a copper ring would help?
