help me find a kitchen island

Hi. I live in a small one bedroom. The kitchen/dining/living is all one room. I want to put a kitchen island/table in the space in front of the fridge it is 60 inches and 50 inches the other direction. I like the idea of a hanging rack but can’t hang from the ceiling in my apartment (can I?). I don’t just want to sit on stools so I want something that will accommodate back rests. I really do need something with storage so just a table won’t work. I could also use a combo table and narrow counter (as long as they are the same height) I can put them together.

It looks to me as if your flooring has already decided your layout. I would continue the storage to the window wall (Ikea or similar, or worktables with wooden counters, if you don't want them to look built in), and use a small dining table in the color-blocked area. Keep the two extra kitchen chairs against the wall or in the bedroom until needed, out of the work space.

Does the LR need to function as a second sleeping space?

The only thing I want to add is a play/work area for my nine year old daughter. She has a play area in the bedroom that we share but she likes being in the living room sometimes too. So maybe keep the sofa where it is but push it away from the wall and bring it forward to the window and lose one of the accent chairs? Then she can have a multi functional space behind the sofa?

For the table I really want to get the white counter high table it measures “60 inches by “30 inches.

Is that the first pic you posted? I like that one, and with a 9 year old, I think it would work fine. As for the play space behind the sofa, I have a bookcase behind my sofa, with the sofa pulled forward. All the grandkids have played back there, whether they were supposed to, or not. ;) I think that's a great idea for a cozy spot for reading, and you could think about adding a shelf with a table that would fold down from the wall, to make an enclosed 'roofed' area--like this but wider:
