Hydrangea leaves turning purple

last modified: 6 years ago

I just planted these last week but they are turning purple. Soil PH levels are 6-6.5. I live in zone 8, (weather has not been hot), and they do have full sun with some shade later late afternoon. my other hydrangeas look normal but these two are turning purple. Could it be I added too much compost? I did not use our clay soil but mixed compost with topsoil.
