I was thinking a shade of green for the door and was wondering about trim. Thank you!!

Here is a (terrible cellphone app made) rendering of the ideas I could do by myself. painting the door, removing shutters, painting garage door same as the house. Might paint trim same as house or a darker blue? Other ideas for trim? Do the windows look too odd without shutters?

Not a pro. I like it but would prefer an MCM-style in wood to match your porch rails.

You need to change the front door to one that is more mid-century. You are headed in the right direction....

also agree to squaring off the garage and removing the shutters first. a new front door and garage door will make a big difference too! (if you could only choose to replace one, do the garage door first and paint the existing front door.)

if you must have a screen door, replace this one with one that's all screen so it kind of blends in more. they even make ones with security screens that are supposedly impossible to cut or tear.

with all those changes, you might find that the white window frames look just fine here.

Carpenter is fine. The opening is already square, the trim just needs to be replaced.

I can’t tell in the photos, do you have a different material above and below the window sills? If so I would play with that somehow.

Windows are good..no shutters if you want that more modern MCM....you could add a decorative wood panel attached to front of deck up to roof...like this... or can you paint out your porch posts to match siding or can they be removed? Or are they needed to support roof area?

Yes, any carpenter could square off that garage opening. I'd have them trim it out in the same wood as your fence. you need some of that wood over there too. don't forget a mcm style garage light (in blue or nickel)

here are a few options you could. I gave you goldenrod color door. I like it w/the blue

or a chartreuse. if you could swing for a more modern style door, great!

removing the shutters, installing a 1x3 molding, and painting, shouldn't cost you more than $50! it's easy to DIY.

Switch out your light. cheap.

Look on craigslist or be on the look out for a more modern looking door. In the meantime, Paint!

The little walkway? easy. pour your own concrete molds surround it w/black pebble rock.

oh, I just realized maybe your screen door is all-screen after all! never mind.

if you can't afford to replace the front door and garage door, then just paint them a matching bright color. they are nice simple styles -- at least they don't have any leaded glass or weird details on them. squaring off the corners of the garage will be the biggest change anyway, new doors can come way later.

bonus points: paint the screen door to match your new door colors. this could pose a challenge, if it's metal, it will require spray paint. art supply stores have a much bigger color selection than lowes or home depot for this. if you choose the spray paint first, you can have a latex paint matched to it.
