Hi all,
I notice that this topic is covered often and I think I'm getting the picture.....bbbuuuttt, it's my first time doing any kind of home reno and I want to double, triple check.
I'm trying to turn a basement into a basic living space. For the most part, the basement is finished. In the bedroom, however, the closet has bare concrete block walls. I removed the old carpet and padding and sealed the raw concrete floor with special paint (on a budget) and bought xypex for the wall. However, I feel really intimidated by it!
Will xypex help with the dampness? There are no noticeable leaks in the wall, the outside is waterproofed. I live in British Columbia on a remote island that is quite wet with hot summers.
I have a dehumidifier running and it seems to run all the time set at 55.
Thoughts? Advice?
Many thanks!!
