Your hostas look great!

Where in Mississippi? I used to live in Hattiesburg, southern part of the state. I'm surprised hostas are doing well down there since winter is so warm and short. We did get freezing temps in the winter, but only for very short periods of time. I remember exposed outdoor pipes freezing once.

I have learned that you have to be very selective about the kinds you plant. That is why I am hoping to identify these. I would say that 50-75 percent of the ones I have planted over the years slowly disappear. The ones that I have now, though, that have lasted through the years are thriving. Also, I am in the Jackson area, so about 2 hours north of Hattiesburg.

you dont need to redo these.. but throw a scale into future pix ... it helps us determine size ...

My first thought for #1 was Big Daddy. However, it fits the bill for "over the years slowly disappear" for me in Dallas. I think ADG is a good guess.

My first thought for #3 matches ken's - it's done well for me in the warmer climate.

i also thought big daddy ... but cant rule out ADG .. because of the lack of scale ...

i seem to recall... ADG as much taller ... and a larger leaf than BD .. in my MI garden ...

but i also considered my BD a wimp that never really thrived ...

Ken, I think you are right on Night Before XMas. It matches the pictures. Also, I just planted a Big Daddy that I got from a local nursery, so not happy it doesn't do well in Dallas. We have the same weather as Dallas, just a day later. That is the problem in the South. A lot of the nurseries get Hostas that do well in the North, but not necessarily here.

My ADG has deeper cups and is more unruly so I agree on Big Daddy. Holy Mole could be Avocado which I think is more common, but you can't really tell the difference between the two so does it matter? NBC looks like a good guess, but check out Ann Kulpa.

One thing about the one I identified as ADG is that it is much later to come up that all of the other Hostas. Would this match ADG or Big Daddy. The Big Daddy that I have has much smaller leaves, but since it was just planted, this does not mean much. But every year I think that it might not come back, but once it sprouts, it grows fast.

I think pic #1 lower right is stained glass, possibly agree on night before Christmas. Check that the green edges go all the way down the leaf to base of plant. It also can come up kind of twisty before it unfolds. Not sure about Big Daddy or ADG......the openness of your plant makes me question this. BD and ADG mature have pretty tight dense leaf mounds. Agree with others about Avocado and Holy Mole——-they are so close. Have no idea of the last one.

Totally unlikely for the blue, but it reminds of Seaver's Blue Plate Special.

#2 is much too large to be Holy Mole. #3 IS very likely Night Before Christmas.

Holy Mole gets big and is fast growing. But if that's your largest Hosta, you must not have any giants. Unfortunately it doesn't get big enough to hide our A/C unit. This is after splitting it this year.

#1 could be Love Pat which I have found to be almost identical in size, shape and color to ADG.
