Grapefruit leaves Curling Up/ ridges PLEASE HELP!

Hey y’all
First time user here, I planted a new grapefruit tee in my backyard in sunny fl was doing well it’s about 4 feet tall, new leaves and small branches have started sprouting but a few weeks ago the new leaves have started cupping upward, also some of the leaves have ridges forming on the flat of the leaf. I’ve checked for pests and have found none! The new leaves are also a lighting green/yellow and some seem to be be turning themselves upside down. Please help any suggestions appreciated, I’ve lost a lemon and lime tree almost the same way (I have used neem spray and also pesticides to ensure it was no pests but to no avail)

The damage you show is sadly more or less common. It actually happened way back at the very beginning of the new flush by insects (most probably thrips) feeding on the new tender growth. At the very beginning of the new growth, spray the leaves with a horticultural oil, or even a firm spray of water from the hose to remove the feeding insects. Sprays every two or three days until the new leaves firm up will eliminate the distortion. Doing so removes the damage causing insects.

Too much water. Soil ph may be out of range fo your rootstock.

Silica so ur saying what’s done is done? Will the leaves come back ok? I have been spraying neem every few days every since the new growth sprouted and I noticed thrips but they did die off and the new growth came in... or are these new growths doomed, thanks for the help all!

The damaged leaves now on the tree will not correct themselves. However, the next flush of new leaves will develop normally, if you provide the help stated in the above post.

Happens to me, too, everytime I get a flush of new growth, no matter what I do. Drives me crazy! It's too hot for me to use neem oil now (it can roast your leaves if you apply it when temps are above 75), so I use the hose to blast it.
