Have you tried pouring boiling (or very hot) water in the vases....to warm up the bases. And, perhaps, soften the paint at the contact points. Wait a bit and see if you can gently twist them free.

That's a great idea! If that doesn't work, I'd probably try a hairdryer aimed at the bottom of the vases to warm the area.

Thanks Olychick! I did have that thought, too - got stuck-on packing tape off a painted end table with a hair dryer!!

Be careful you don't crack the vase with the boiling water

lindac - My husband had the same reaction - may try the hair dryer first, and potentially hot, but not boiling, water.

Try dental floss.

The paint is going be be wrecked whatever you do.

Oh good thing I was wrong. Hope that it was indeed a case of the paint not being fully cured. I was afraid of blocking--the tendency of paint to stick to itself. More info on blocking:

Stax- i did not use goo gone. Just heat from a hairdryer/pouring hot water in the vase.

Cil-antro- I saw that article and I was scared ha. I got lucky, but the heat methods definitely helped!

I was going to say if nothing works at least they won’t fall over and break hehe* glad you got them off though :)
