Is there any local speculation about when Phase II kicks in? Will it be state wide or county by county?

Are you referring to rentals or store and restaurant openings?

I am referring to all of the Phase II aspects, as listed on state websites.

I am not sure about the Phase II date/details, but I live in a county that has mandated stricter measures than the governor's orders so I know it is possible for a county to have stricter mandates but not more lenient. For example, our county mandates mask wearing and slightly reduced capacity for commercial establishments. We have gone out to eat with outdoor seating and it is very comfortable given the measures and reduced capacity. Not sure how it will feel in Phase II if the mask requirement is dropped and capacity is increased.

I expect we will move into the next phase soon. Our governor aims to please. If traveling, I think you will need to confirm any additional restrictions with your county of interest.

Yes, I've been able to find that out, but I read so much about Phase II and just wondering if anyone has ventured a guess as to when that might be... Thanks!

Third paragraph below. Sounds like what they’re doing here in PA.

I live in Florida and did not even realize there were phases for reopening! it seems where I am just about anything is open. The rental situation is fluid right now and it seems each city or county is making their own rules. I’m on Marco and they just opened short term rentals to everyone but the NY,NJ,and LA and CT people must self quarantine 14 days. According to most people here these travelers from NY area are not Following the quarantine rules. Some individual condo associations are refusing rentals to people from these areas and in other cases we have a ,ot of vigilantes calling the cops on non compliant parties. Our beaches are open but I know Miami area is still closed.

Sorry this probably doesn’t answer your original question though.

I’m in Naples and I agree with cmm. Beaches and restaurants are open along with hair salons.

Mtn, sounds like you may have a specific aspect in mind. In general I am not perceiving that anyone knows, or can know, when phase X or Y will begin. As with everything about the past few months, the situation is so nebulous and so fluid.

In my area, South Florida, the governments of various entities from local to regional to state are working step by step. When next steps happen will depend on what occurs following the gradual re-openings ie rising or falling infection and hospitalization rates etc.

Eta: Sorry, this was an old article. Still no word on when phase 2 will happen.

    Disregard the following...

The governor is making a statement today (Friday) about Phase II openings. It looks like he’s in a hurry to implement 2 in most of the state.

I can’t find anything on phase 2 except what it would look like in the future.

    This is for the state.

And this is my area, Palm Beach County... extending state of emergency until June 5th.

It gets confusing because certain areas have been hit hard and others very little.

I could travel an hour or so north and you would hardly know there was such a thing as Corona virus. You might see one person with a mask on.

Here are mentions of phase 2 .

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/miami.cbslocal.com/2020/05/27/phase-1-reopening-almost-complete-what-will-phase-2-look-like/amp/

    Here is Miami

My area further north. It says West Palm Beach but it means Palm Beach county, that includes several towns.

Further north, around an hour or more from me in Indian River county.

I was distance talking to my neighbor yesterday and he is going to restaurants locally. The restaurants are doing an empty chair at the bar between people and an empty table between people. Anyway, we have had 357 more people infected in PBC since yesterday ( over triple the high) and ten more deaths. I don’t feel my area should be loosening it’s belt yet. Now it’s going to drag out longer. I was hoping to do something...anything, by early fall. Thats not going to happen.

I think the mixed messaging is totally confusing so many folks that they're just giving up on any safety measures, while others are trying their best to stay safe. There's no certainty about rules. That and the very vocal minority of anti-maskers that have been bullying authorities and local citizens. Too many folks around here are acting as if they think the virus is totally gone - or that it's all a big hoax. Beaches have been packed and the sheriff announced they would no longer try to enforce any distancing - it's only 'recommended'. It seems to vary from one town to another, let alone counties.

People on Nextdoor.com have been asking others to share what they know about which businesses are requiring masks, and then they get bullied too 😟

It's very disturbing to me & hubby, and many other people as well.

I think the only way to know for sure is to call a specific business and ask them directly. It seems to be 'every man for himself'.

Keep watching the numbers. (They are going up, not in a good way).

NPR.org has this guide to what each state is doing. It's quite detailed and extensive:

You're welcome. I love NPR. They make me smarter 😊

Carol - I agree. I can't tell you how many times I've returned home and told DH " I was listening to NPR and they were discussing ------"

I know this isn't a joke but sometimes our governor makes me LOL:

I mean ... go enjoy. Have a drink. It’s fine," DeSantis said. “We want to kind of not have huge crowds piling in.”

Good to know. My DD started working remotely but she is scheduled to go to FL in July sometime. I may send her to Maine so she won't have to Q the first two weeks.

Thanks for sharing Maddie. I’m glad my county is not going into phase 2. I do wish we were ready though.

My child moved to Florida for a summer internship on the space coast last week. She’s amazed at how much more relaxed that area is compared to Texas. It’s amusing to me that she’s still virtual 3 days a week. But she’s enjoying being at the beach.

Not that this is right but in my area most NY, NJ and CT visitors are not adhering to the quarantine. I’m on Marco Island which Is a high tourist area. This time of year is usually slow but now we have lots of visitors who were cancelled in March and April.

Good to know, Cmm, thx. I think my DD would want to follow the rules, and her employer would want her too as well. It occurs to me that it's kind of funny, she could spend 1 day in Maine and then leave from there and not be Q'd in FL. "Funnier" yet, where we live in Maine is now a bit riskier than where we are in CT.

Amyk, Glad to hear your kids' opportunity came thru, so many kids' plans have been thwarted by all this. Congrat.s to her!

Mtn, just curious, what field is your DD’s internship? I’m envisioning something ocean related.

What a wonderful opportunity for your daughter to make a real difference. My husband was a teenage volunteer on the McGovern campaign back in the day. He still talks about what a great experience it was.
