Window A/C Won't Work

I just put my Frigidaire window unit in yesterday from the winter and it won't blow anything. It also sounds awful. After doing a little research, I learned a clearly stored it incorrectly on its backside, most likely causing internal damage. Does anyone know if it would be more prudent to call a repair shop or will that be more expensive than replacing the unit?

What BTU size it the unit? If it less than 10,000 BTUs then it would be cheaper to buy a new one. This assumes you can even find a local repair shop to attempt to fix it.

Was the unit covered while stored? Could be a mud dauber nest or some such on the evaporator or condenser fan throwing it off-balance or hitting a shroud.

New units are cheap and much more efficient and quieter then older ones. They are also lighter and hence easier to take in and out as you and I do annually!
