But look at all of the beds! And some times your newbies turn out to be shorter than "advertised " and so you wind up with talls in front of shorts. Very nice! I like Wonders of Oz and the peach double next to the daisy, what is that one, Kate? Dark Prince is very pretty too.

Kay, that double is Siloam Double Classic and I kinda like the intertwined look with the daisy. As to the shorties I plan on moving several of those out of that bed.

Oh Sherry!! Good advice! Actually there originally was good space between the plantings. I had no idea how many of them would explode into massive clumps!! (Women Seeking Men is also on that perimeter) I am moving those inside clumps if I can find somewhere to put them now that my big bed is full!!

We usually never paid much attention to height. Our design for our daylily beds is called hodgepodge. Please post some photos of those beds when you reach peak. I am sure they will be a vision of loveliness.

Ruby Storm and Dark Prince are my picks of the daylilies today, but all are lovely.

Kate, what a joy to see all the work you've been doing in your gardens and glimpsing a peek at your yard. Where'd you put those seedlings? I have been much too busy lately working for my brother the contractor doing landscaping work and painting houses to comment on any posts of late. I do check in when I get home but then I'm too sore and tired to comment. And weekends I work here doing all my own major garden chores and having the grandkids over for sleepovers so I just don't know how I will keep up! But I have been looking at your pics and those of our forum friends and enjoying them all. Please do keep posting. It is always a pleasure to see what you are creating and growing, my friend.

Spot can always photo bomb your pictures as far as I'm concerned........I call the daisy mixed in with your off the rack special serendipity. Pretty combination; the double with the single............Prairie Spirit looks promising if it would open up and Dark Prince is eye catching.....Your beds look weed free. That's an accomplishment in itself........Maryl

Wow, love the garden pics. I too have learned over the years on things not to do when setting up garden beds. Magic Of Oz looks good. Hoping the one here will have a good bloom season. Mystical Rainbow looks lovely in a clump.

First, your tips are hysterical. I was really chuckling at some of them, mostly because I identify with your design dilemmas. The garden shots are lovely, and I only wish I had that many beds weeded and mulched. So far, I've finished one and a half. My favorite photos are Siloam Double Classic with the daisy and the clump of Mystical Rainbow. Festive Jousting also caught my eye. I have that one in a pot, but have never planted it because others (prettier to me) got the ground space first.

Great garden shots Kate ! So lovely and tidy . I am fighting grass from cuttings from when my hubby mows the lawn. UGH! I guess I am going to have to at some time invest in some mulch but I hate to use my extra money on mulch when it could go to plants!

My fav's here are Prairie Spirit and Magic of Oz . I grow MOO too I guess that is why my eye is drawn to it . It really is a departure from the many eyed daylilies out there . Mystical Rainbow is lovely but didn't like it here I guess . It died its second season . I never replaced as it was too short for my gardens.and I had added it here before I even knew there were great tall daylilies out there . It probably was one of the first dayliiiies I ever bought because of how lovely it was.
