Well you certainly picked some near perfect blooms to show! Just beautiful!! I like Bite of the Apple color-so pretty. Kiss of Paradise was worth a second showing. I hope Patsy Carpenter multiplies first you. Always big pretty blooms but a poly! They are all lovely. Sorry about the bud drop-that can be so frustrating!

Core Values and Patsy Carpenter are my favorites today, love the green throat on CV. Then there is Facemaker, that’s on my list too. I hope you show more blooms from SP Rejoice, would like to its progression through the season. I had bud drop last season, had never experienced it to the degree I saw. I was wondering if it was weather related, was worse on The late bloomers.

You are so right about Facemaker's better bloom. I really like the pattern and am drawn to the (almost clean) colors. Maybe as the heat turns up the base outer color will fade to more white by the end of the day while still retaining the distinct maroon patterning. Picky aren't I-lol.........Stone Palace Rejoice is more my colors from last year, but this year is nice too........Yup, I keep going back to Facemaker. It still is unique if only......Maryl

Facemaker just gets better and better. I really like Kiss of Paradise too, but every one is lovely. I have had buds drop, I hope things improve as the season goes on. Very annoying to lose buds when I have been so anticipating them.

Nancy - I'm seeing even more bud drop this morning. Maybe it's the temperatrue swings. Facemaker had never appealed to me when it was introduced. I only got it for hybridizing purposes since my friend on NGA recommended it as a top pattern parent. But the look is growing on me. It sort of reminds me of Stenciled Infusion, which you know I really love.

I will get on my wife's platform. She is Dr. Patricia Henley who often writes scientific articles for the Daylily Journal. It is not thrips damage. Thrips don't have the kind of mouth parts to do that damage. Blame is on eriophyid mites but not enough research has been done to prove it.

I am finding more and more with various amount of bud drop. I hope this stops soon! One was a first year seedling, either that or a deer swooped in among all the other scapes and took off the buds. Course, could have been me. I was weeding and knocked off the top of another 1st year seedling bloom. I decided to let the weeds go, they can't do any more harm than me!

Really Very very nice Debra, My eye is drawn to the creamy colored blooms with the in your face eye zones .The deeply colored eye zones contrast so nicely with the creamy background . Just makes them POP !

Kiss of Paradise is certainly a looker, and one can see the Christopher Moody parentage. I do note, though, that even some pictures from the South show blooms beneath foliage. Looks nowhere near 35 inches.

Mantis - My Kiss of Paradise typically has scapes of 25-27 inches - just above the foliage. Most of the more recent Floyd Cove cultivars are at least 10 inches shorter than their registration stats. Stenciled Infusion is the only exception.
