Tomato with two stems

One of the tomatoes I purchased, I didn't realize it had two stems on it till I got home and planted it. I've read that I should maybe just prune one all the way to the ground so there is one leader? is that best? if so, is there a way to choose which one to cut? they are the same height and both are about to start flowering.
