Intrepid Openers and a New Seedling

After a low of 57 degrees, not many daylilies wanted to open flat. But Chartered Course defied the odds and looked beautiful by 7 a.m.

First flower ever on this narrow-petaled seedling whose mama is Jungle Queen. The purple color is really pretty, and I like the white darts coming from the throat. I was hoping for an applique pattern when I made the cross. It has at least 9 buds on its first year to bloom. The flower is 8 inches.
