While we are waiting for the experts to give exact measurements, I would have the drapes be full enough so that they look like they could close even though you won’t be closing them.

For other advice, we need to see the room and what’s in it in order to suggest fabric.

There isn’t anything in the room right now. Floors are light hardwood and furniture, when brought back in, is medium to dark wood. I am attaching a pic of the bedding, but this is not our furniture. View outside the windows is woodsy; no other homes visible. Trim is white

Any drapes you buy will cover a 43 inch wide window, as each panel would only need to be 22 inches. That being said, I'd choose a nice creamy off white to tie in your floors and bedding. I'm not a fan of grommets, especially in bedrooms as I feel they look cheap. You can get some decent looking linen curtains in various lengths at Ikea. Aina and Ritva are nice options.

2 42" panels should be plenty. That's nearly double your window width. IMO, backtabs give a cleaner look than grommets.
