Hall bath layout advice

Next on our whole-house renovation is our current hall bath:

Across from the toilet is a tiny shower.

Here's the floor plan:

Our plan:

  • Remove shower and dip into closet space to make room for a full tub/shower combo.
  • Replace vanity and give it 2 sinks and a linen closet.
  • Remove tile and install heated tile floors.

So I've got a preliminary vanity design. Nothing earth-shattering, but I'd like any input you've got. Ignore the dimensions; I wasn't placing everything exactly on the wall.

This is 33" sink bases and a 24" drawer base between them, and a 24" linen on the end. 24" wall cabinet in the middle.

Questions:

1. Keep or nix the wall cabinet? Sticking out 12" seems like it might be too big.

2. Linen: will this be big enough to put a hamper in the bottom of it?

3. Mirrors/lights: I'm thinking two singles, with lights over the top of each.

4. Counters: I'd like stone/stone-ish. Any suggestions? Color scheme of the room will be probably gray floor, deep blue/green mixed in somewhere (art? shower tile? towels?)

Any other unsolicited advice for unasked questions is welcome.
