PLUMBER ADVICE NEEDED!

My contractor is saying to buy a new faucet bc countertops are too thick. I went to ACE hardware to rig it but he still says it doesn’t work. First two pictures are before rigging and in slot. Last two pictures are of my attempted rigging and in the slot. Anyone have any advice?! Thanks in advance ☺️

What is the thread depth of the hole as it appears to be counter sunk to accommodate the wide flange properly. The small spigot is your inbound water so rigged version looks more like you are trying to make this a drain not a faucet?

Pull the tops, set 'em in the yard on horses, put a diamond blade on a grinder and a mask on your face and that faucet will fit in about 5 minutes.

On my rigged version I just tried to see if I could connect something to make the piece longer and they would still have access to connect water. It sounds like this is impossible 😩 I have 2cm thick countertops

See Josephs advice above. That will work perfectly.

Yeah idk what he’s talking about

He's talking about pull the top and using a diamond blade on a grinder cut away enough of the top from underneath to use your current fitting.

The spec says right in it will accommodate a 3cm countertop so you still have 10mm of play.

Don't think somebody is talking straight with you here??

You need a “Faucet Shank Extension” that will fit on the base of your faucet to extend it so that it will fit into and grip a thick counter top. There are extension kits made to do this. Usually if you google the manufacturer of your faucet and ask if they make them to fit your model, you can find one. I assume there are probably universal extenders out there, too. I had the same problem. Didn’t realize my granite counter was too thick for the faucets that I had purchased. Learned that fact when the plumber showed up to install. Who knew???? In the end, I actually purchased faucets that were manufactured with a longer shank to fit through the countertop. But this might be your solution. I am NOT a pro. Just someone who found herself in your position a few years ago. Good luck!
