Midwest Gardening Annuals Container Gardening

Identifying white flowered annual

Can someone tell me what plant this is? I've bought them before in the cheap 6 or 8 packs of annuals. They were fine. However, this year they came back and are 8-10x the size they were last year. I am assuming because we had a mild winter (Zone 5, Chicago). Thanks

Okay. Thanks. I've always thought those were just pink. It says they are good to zone 3. Maybe I was just impatient in the past since they are all in containers.

There are lots of Dianthus species and hybrids. Not all will be hardy in z3.

Dianthus often come back each year. Sometimes a short-lived perennial. Very hardy usually, depending on the variety.
