If you paint the concrete you will need to add a glass top to protect the paint. I would try adding a colorful rug first .

You can stain the concrete with no worries about protecting it. But I wouldn't change it; I think a colorful rug would add enough contrast to the gray and cover enough of the floor to break up the gray. You can use so many colors with gray - what are your favorites?

Can you show more pics of the area so people can see what else is in the room?

Love the idea of trying a colorful rug before messing with painting the table. Finding the couch to be the most challenging shade to work with... we really haven’t done much yet, so open to all color suggestions!

I like navy, yellow, burnt orange, depends on how much pop you would like. The sofa could take a nice cream throw, and some accent pillows, also kinda looks like vintage farm house....

Here's the same rug with a slightly pinkish white on the wall (BM's Mauve Hint as rendered by BM's personal color viewer) and the table stained reddish brown.

@cawaps Oh my gosh! You’re wonderful, thank you for spending time photoshopping! That white wall looks so much better, that just sealed the deal for me on painting this room. Not sure my husband will go for all that pink in the rug, but love the idea of a colorful rug!

I looked up the Life is Beautiful artwork so I could see the whole thing, and was riffing off the color of the flower in her hair. I also like pink with gray.

The image above was my favorite rug, but I looked at a few others, all from Rugs USA (they have a handy "view rug in your room" feature). I think they all have at least some pink, but they don't all read as pink as the one above. The high contrast in the last two makes them read a bit busier.

Hi Elana, Try something like this to add a little more depth and warmth. Your table is beautiful the way it is. A colorful rug gives you the option of changing the pillows out. Also, I would use a floor lamp or two instead of overhead lighting. Try these changes first before you decide to paint your walls.

I used a 9x12, mostly, for the mock-ups, but I don't always think that the Rugs USA tool has correctly guesstimated the size of your furniture when it scales the rugs for imaging. The tool lets you choose a different size rug after you look at the image.

eSale Rugs has a similar tool, and I wouldn't be surprised if other vendors do as well.

Not sure what size you need. And found this on Houzz which never has a very good representation of the true color like other sites but if you have any interest perhaps it can be tracked down on a sit that will give you a better idea of the colors.

Since colors look different on all monitors, it's difficult to say for sure, but I think the rugs posted with the pinky and bluish tones are not nearly as attractive with your sectional and table as the ones that lean orange/warmer/earthier. That Kilim looks fabulous in your room. The one you posted below it, looks all wrong color-wise to me.

The material is mainly jute and jute isn't kind to removing spills. Also, it has a little bit of cotton in it and cotton likes to absorb spills.
