Is this bird injured or is this normal behavior?

I'm not sure what type of bird this is, but he's been hanging out in the flower bed for the whole day. He's not flying away, I've been one foot away & he just watches me. I want to make sure he's okay, but also don't want to disturb it if this is normal behavior. *photo in comments

I BELIEVE (but I’m not positive) that this is a mourning dove fledgling. If that’s the case, then he/she is learning to fly and is having a bit of trouble, which is normal. The parents will sometimes push the fledglings out of the nest to encourage them to take flight, but they don’t do it before the babies are physically able to fly. I’ve seen this with other wild baby birds, and I get so nervous for them and I always want to move them out of harm’s way! Of course, I don’t do it; I don’t want to interfere with nature. Let me know if this bird has finally disappeared. I am a bit concerned, since mourning doves are a favorite meal of multiple birds of prey.
