Replace it with a real porcelain tile . There are millions. go shopping !

No LVT is waterproof. The tile itself will not be effected by water but water will get thru it to the subfloor and need to be removed to clean and dry out the subfloor if you have another leak. You will also need to wash the tile in dish soap and let dry.

You are correct in wanting a stone pattern to abut your hardwood. Look at COREtec, which claims to be waterproof. LVT is warmer and easier on the feet than porcelain tile, and in a laundry room I can't believe it would affect resale value. With stores starting to open up and trying to attract customers, you might find some deals. Good luck!

I will be putting my home on the market in the next month or so. I had plenty on my plate (building a new home, disabled husband) before this flood crisis. So I am interested in resale. It's not a huge space, about 13 x 9 including a coat closet. The current floor is a smoky blue sheet vinyl, so I'm concerned that we'll have the depth for a porcelain tile. I'll talk to the restoration contractors when they come in today.

I vote for tile also.

Really tile is not more waterproof than any other flooring get the vinyl and move on .

that's a big laundry and mud room. In any case, LVT would be fine in there for resale - that is what LVT is made for. Also it is much easier to install than hard tile -all that prep work. Tile will need a subfloor, that may not be the case with LVT

We installed COREtec Vela in an upstairs bath and love it.

I would replace with more sheet vinyl. IMO, the flooring in a laundry room isn't going to make much, if any difference in resale.
