Will suggest that you try different bulbs before painting anything. The type bulb you use will affect how colors are rendered.

The room seems quite tight, especially right in front of the washer-dryer. It appears cramped and not very comfortable to use.

Would it be possible to move the coat hooks and shoe bench to the spot to the left of the washer-dryer? Where I put the red box. That would keep foot traffic out of the washer-dryer area. Put the wicker-like white-cushioned bench somewhere else in your home.

What others said about improved lighting and maybe an updated window treatment. A colorful Roman blind perhaps?

First change your lghting , it is doing the space no favors.

Second you can't just paint those cabinets as they are melamine.

Is all the trim, baseboards casing in your home the wood tone? The white entry door with the wood trim stands out to me more than those cabinets and window trim do. Also the amount of unorganized clutter. I think an overall update on the space would make you love walking in more than changing the window casing and cabints. They are the least offensive.

Despite wishing for a bigger space this is what I have to work with and the clutter is not so cluttered in my eyes- its our life with kids and im okay with that. lol

if I move the coat rack that is what we will all see immediately upon entry, so i prefer the cuter shelf and bench.

So thus far the suggestions to work with are painting the door and better window treatments And lighting.

(And yes, the trim through the house is wood amd staying)

Before doing anything fix that terrible lighting . In a laundry room you want excellent lighting so youcan see stains for sure and just better to work in. I would do a LED track light in there with 5 heads and ideally 4000K bulbs that lights the mud room much better too. Where do all those doors lead ?To me the cabinets look like they match the W/D so not sure about the issue .

Speaking of clutter, I suggest removing everything that’s sitting on top of the cabinets.

Get much better lighting.

Declutter the knick-knacks.

Put a fun wallpaper in the space.

Keep it utilitarian, but pretty.

Actually the lighting is much better then the pic indictaes. perfect for seeing the clothes and such.

The washer dryer is cream, cabinets and trim on window white.

Doors are closets amd yes, they are full already.

if you love the wall color paint the cabinets and trim the same color as the wall, use a high adhesive primer first, no need to sand. looks like you need a touch up on the ceiling.

Get rid of the fussy curtains, get a top down bottom up blind for the window.

leave the floor As Is and get a light patterned washable runner to add a little color and interest to the floor.

change the light bulbs for a higher temp/cleaner glow.

If those cabinets are melamine you are not effectively painting them.

You would be better off, taking down those cabinets and replacing with new taller cabinets that go to the ceiling. You can order the cabinets in a new color and you will have more storage space. Win-win.
