I'm making a shelf with a stained plywood top and wooden legs. The top is stain quality birch plywood, and the legs are dowels stained to match. The plan was to simply screw the legs on, but I don't want things snagging on the screw heads. I was thinking that countersinking panheads would be the way to do this, but is that feasible with half-inch plywood, or am I going to have a splintery mess?
