We just installed new butcher block counters and have an induction (yay!) cooktop coming next week. Has anyone ever put anything under the cooktop, i guess covering the hole in between the cooktop and counters to protect the counters. When we removed our old cooktop we saw the buildup between the cooktop and counter. I was thinking of some sort of silicone protector but have never seen it used in this way. Or is it a lost cause??
