Outdoor Camera

We are considering purchasing a camera to view our night time visitors in our rural area garden ( not the human type). Does anyone have experience with these or would recommend any specific one? Are they difficult to set up?

i have started researching but find the camera tech part of reviews confusing. We don’t need fancy.....

I use the Ring system to keep an eye on a second home. I bought on Amazon and it was easy to set up and install.

I have three cameras, one that replaces my doorbell (and has a solar charger), one that is in a remote location and uses two removable rechargeable batteries, and one that replaces my outdoor light in the back (which is wired).

I use any PC or phone to log in and see past motion events or live coverage. These systems connect through wifi, so need to be placed close enough to your home to get a consistent signal.

Prior to getting the cameras I had no idea how frequently wildlife were visiting. We have footage of deer, turkeys, coyote, possums, skunks, raccoons and the occasional roaming pets. Our neighbor across the street caught images of a mountain lion.

I have a Browning Trail Camera, model, Strike Force.

It is my only experience, works as advertised.

Just go to your local sporting goods store and get a game or trail camera. You don't really need anything too fancy for your purposes and there are a lot of options under $100. Easy to assemble/install and easy to use.

2 years ago my wife bought me a "Defender" brand outdoor camera which consists of 2 cameras and an indoor monitor. The cameras turn on via a motion detector day or night and records a video of any movement for about 100' feet away depending upon the size of what's moving around. At night it switched to infrared so the distance of view decreases to about 50'. These are videos and not snap shots which I like better. You will need a nearby electrical outlet to plug in each of the cameras. The next morning I'll review the recording to see deer, possums, skunks, cats, dogs, etc passing through our yard.

It depends of what kind of camera you would like to buy, for example you can find very cheap ones on eBay but they will not be so efficient, the best way will be to check on google : top cameras. I think it is not difficult to set up such cameras, just need to fix correctly it and that is the most difficult thing. I am more based on simple photo cameras ( I am a professional photographer ), in past nobody could believe that photographer could be a job and it is possible to earn good money by that. If you are interested in becoming a photographer, you can read more about Youtubers Cameras, I think it will be very useful.

I have a Primos brand that I got on ebay a few years ago..it works great. It was not the cheapest but I went for the megapixels..the higher the megapixel number the clearer your shots will be..but the higher your megapixel, the pricier they get..you have to find a happy medium between the clarity you want and the price you want. Mine is 12 and it's fine..up to you.
