Jellyroll Morton

It rained last night, so I had to pick wet blooms this morning and it had already rained again the morning...blooms were a soggy mess. I started taking photos of the wet flowers and when I was as far away from the door as I could be, it started a very hard rain again. I took my last few photos in the rain, went and then came back out to tak a photos of Jellyroll Morton's threesome.

Two really great clump shots today, love that side bed, so much color! Making a Rainbows is at the top of my list today. A lovely shot of Gypsy Cats, it looks even nicer today.

Kay - Those clumps of Carolina Sugar Daddy, El Desperado and Fire in the Hole are fabulous. Making a Rainbow is actually named Rainbow Maker. I have that one, but mine hasn't even scaped yet.. Once I got mine in the ground, it went from four to ten fans last year. I look forward to seeing a clump of it this year.. It's great to see Gypsy Cats looking so fine. Mine won't start for a week or two.

SC Francis Busby is looking beautiful and bright. That little furry photo bomber is a cutie!

I am with others, those 1st clumps are magnificent! Love Rainbow Maker, may have to look for that one. The best it the little photo bomber though. I have 4 cats, but I need kittens!

Thanks, Debra. Everyone knows I have name dyslexia. Sherry, I too love that side bed. I starts blooming just as a lot of the earlier ones are through. I was a bit surprised to have so much bloom today. The rain keys it, and we are supposed to be dry for a while after today. I am pleased with the increase and the blooms on Rainbow Maker, but it is pretty short here. Nancy, Although it is short, it increases nicely and makes an awful lot of blooms. It rebloomed its first year..

Gotta love the clumps here! We seem to be on the same timeline now as my El Desperado has so begun blooming and Laura Harwood bloomed today for the first time. Making Rainbows appears to have a similar form to EITV and is very lovely. Jellyroll Morton takes the prize for color today! And love the sweet baby resting and waiting for you to hurry up!! Such a colorful post!

Thanks,,Kate. Making Rainbows has nice big blooms to be a short plant, and they stand up nicely. Jellyroll Morton reminds me of Clown Parade in being very photogenic. The cats are just nosy. Today I was picking blueberries and Spatter couldn't not help herself. she kept watching the entire time (and I picked five quarts) and had to keep checking to see what I was putting in the bowl. they follow all over the garden when I take photos or pick blooms or weed or put out mulch. At least two and maybe three or four of them will be there. They are now playing with my botanical labels.

Lovely group Kay. The pic of Carolina Sugar Daddy is impressive. Send some of that rain here. All storms are going around us. Hope it isn't going to be a dry year here.

When the rain is around and it keeps missing it is just a bad feeling. I am sorry it is missing you and know how that is, Julia. Thanks you. Carolina Sugar Daddy usually has a couple of good clumps at least. It is one of the Selman's that I liked well enough to keep, and never disappoints.
