Yes! It will live in a laundry bump-out in my white hallway. I went back and checked the paperwork twice for the "WH" before submitting. It is a real worry.

I have a question. I would consider purchasing this machine in white if it has a heater. I always thought it did. However, twice in the product description it says no heater. The operation manual talks about high water temps but never says anything about a heater. Obviously I thing the listing is incorrect and it has a heater. If it does I will probably order one. I live in NYC any suggestions on where to order? I want the best installation I can get. I am very willing to pay extra for excellent installation.

@girlwithtools Congrats on your purchase! That's great you will have so many options available (like being able to set 5 rinses, or 203F degree washes).

@hcbm Little Giant has a 5000w heating element, it heats the water up very fast to 203F. You will need a dedicated/special outlet run to plug in this machine. Might be worth it to reach out to the folks at the NYC experience center to see who the best installer/dealer has been. They used to sell direct but changed to now only selling via dealers. They announced a new model for the Little Giant in the US (already out in Europe), was supposed to be available around summer time frame.

Did you buy the white one on sale at Appliance Connection? I saw that huge discounted sale price and sent them an inquiry asking if the units were brand new in factory sealed boxes. I received a response with a quote attached without answering my question. I replied asking the same question and never received a response.

@Cal, thank you. I knew the Little Giant had a heater and special wiring requirements, but got confused when it stated otherwise. Unfortunately NYC is only in phase one of the Covid opening, so the Experience Center is closed. I will try just calling them and see what they say. My neighbor bought a Miel about 4 years ago and I will get the name of the dealer. I will also call the Appliance Connection and ask the questions @littlegreeny suggested. I will also check the reviews of Appliance Connection. The deal seems too good to be true, and as you know, then it probably is.

Well, after doing a little reading I discovered that Appliance Connection is very near me and I personally know someone who bought appliances from them. They did not have a positive experience. I then Googled review and they were worse. I then checked the BBB and I am copying and pasting here the warning.

Pattern of Complaint

BBB files indicate a pattern of complaints concerning merchandise quality, delivery, and customer service for Appliances Connection. Numerous consumers are telling BBB about the problems they experience after ordering items such as home appliances or furniture from the website of Appliances Connection. Several consumers claim they wait weeks or more beyond the expected delivery date before their ordered items are delivered. Those customers still awaiting delivery reportedly encounter a lot of difficulty in trying to confirm the status of their order with the company’s customer service representatives. Many consumers have allegedly received defective or damaged merchandise, and a number of those consumers claim they either have been unable to have the damaged merchandise repaired or endure long frustrating waits for the repairs to be made. Some consumers that reportedly received damaged items say they try to work with the company for a replacement item or refund but are unable to resolve the issue.

Needless to say I will check other appliance dealers in NYC to see if the Little Giant is on sale.

@littlegreeny I actually called appliancesConnection. The person who answered the phone didn't let me get through all the numbers of "6808" before piping up with "Oh yeah, that's a great price." There was no typing or delay in the background for him to look anything up. Normal people don't assume they have all the stock memorized. They always check; it was so weird.

Conversation like this:

Me: do you guys have this in your own warehouses or are you ordering from the manufacturer?

AC: we have them in our warehouse

Me: and this is a real price?

AC: yes, its a really great deal

Me: and its new, not refurbished?

AC: they are all new

Me: but how are you pricing it like this, seems too good to be true?

AC: we bought a bunch of 'em. How many do you want?

Me: Huh. So what if it gets here and has a huge dent or is broken?

AC: You just return it.

Me: So how do I return it?

AC: (interrupts with) We come and pick it up.

Me: So you arrange for someone to come here and take it back?... or do I have to arrange for someone?

AC: we do it.

Me: So I just would log back into the website and there is some way to do that?

AC: Yes, its just like Amazon.

Me: Huh.

There is no way this is "just like Amazon"! This thing involves cross-country freight -- it weighs 260 lbs. Just seemed too good to be true. If it was just a toaster, I'd go for it. But for this washer,

@girlwithtools I think you dd the right thing. I was so excited when I found that deal myself a few weeks ago. But after contacting them and researching the company decided it was too good to be true.

Did your local shop offer you a discount or price match with Appliance Connection?

@littlegreeny They sure did not offer me a discount. But you know I tried! The salesman did at least call his Miele rep who told him that they don't deal but they can't stop a distributor from lowering the price after the model is considered out of production. There is apparently a new one out any day now. Knock on wood my order is really in and I get the one I want. Didn't hear a peep from the salesman today and was just too busy to call. Lets hope no news is good news.

I want to buy one But I was kind of suspicious when their inventory went from 1-2 to more than 10 available.

What is going to happen to the Old inventory that Miele is holding ?

@H Seattle I don't think the inventory listing at Appliances Connection is real; its a scam.

I think its worth it to buy it through my local dealer because I had my old 1926 for almost 20 years. If this new one lasts close to the same (and maybe longer since its supposed to run for about double the hours of my old one before dying), the average price per year makes it a no-brainer. I did spend a bunch on repairs last three years. So to be totally honest with myself about the math, I probably should have bought the Giant 3 years ago. I like the 220 electrical so I can run sheets hot. We get all rashy in this family if stuff isn't rinsed. We like absolutely no soap smell in our clothes. The giant is the closest thing to what we have been using and we love it so its worth it to me. ;)

I'm assuming the Old inventory is simply getting sold until its gone.

Yes! Our local certified appliance store learned through their Miele rep that Miele had given away the remaining stock they held of the PW 6068 Plus to medical facilities dealing with Covid 19, except for *one* white rumored machine sitting in New Jersey? warehouse scratch and dent area.

The rep explained they can't see the machine, or get pictures, but explained that Miele's scratch and dents are normally barely marred. They don't sell them at all if they are broken. They do not refurbish broken machines and lable them scratch-and-dent. They are truly new flawless working order machines, just something visual on the outside keeps it from meeting Miele standard of sellable as new.

Since my washer was toast and I didn't know when the new model would really surface and with Covid making me think that delivery times may be out of Miele's control, I said yes to the scratch and dent. Felt like a total gamble but I just wanted to trust that damage would be minimal; and remember that our own family could easily put a 4-inch scratch on anything new during the first week of use.

They gave me scratch and dent 10% off price. Was shipped and we had it installed by local certified Miele installers. There was no manual and it was missing the tool for leveling. I found the tool from my old machine the next day and had my contractor who was already here level it.

It turned out to be super easy to run 220 to my laundry bump-out and the washer has been installed for a couple months. The only easy thing I asked for in our remodel. The only scratches I can find are on the stainless top. You can see them to the left and right off the white light reflection near the front of the machine. Other blurry areas are actually schmutz from setting down coffee cups and stain remover overspray. We have added to the scratches with a wicker laundry basket maybe. Hard to be sure. I didn't memorize original pattern; I was just so relieved the front and sides were perfect. It was my plan all along to buy a sheet of white laminate for the top anyway to match dryer. My dryer (and old washer) have white laminate and that material just works better.

I still need to figure out how to change the programming a little to add extra spin speed on shirts setting, but it's been a low priority. We love it as-is, scratches and all. It is slightly deeper (maybe?) than the old washer and my concern for the new model getting bigger was real. We can't go any deeper or it will stick out.

I have been using the delayed start time every night to have it finish the load the next day at 4pm, when I get home from work. Love it! Old machine was only a 9.5 hour delay; this one is 24. Is a small thing, but it helps me keep my cool; removing laundry loading from morning crazy routine when trying to get school and work and dishes etc. going.

The other option was have it start early morning, but then I had to empty before work or it would sit wet all day. It helps me feel like I got my act together with kids and family -- less yelling at my kids going on under time deadlines :)

There is one tiny laundry basket for dirties across the hall from the washer. Most laundry is clean all the time with this method so no baskets are in my kids rooms anymore. They throw their clothes on the floor anyway. Now they have to kick it to the laundry room daily, but the house is just not that big and they are dusting the floor on the way. Do I miss the conversation of "is this basket clean or dirty? What are you doing? Mixed!?! Aaaaaaa!" No, I do not. One load done and I distribute to bedrooms without a basket or leave it folded on dryer for owners to fetch--small means manageable. I have hugged this machine. Quality-of-life improver.

It runs loads much faster than the 1926 did. At first I was horrified, but it seems not to matter. No rashes are surfacing. I use barely any soap or the fragrance and foam is overpowering.

No regrets.

Scratches only on top about 5 inches from front edge. It scratches easily I suspect. Eventually all the scratches will blend together or I will get some white laminate to cover it. It matches our not-at-all fancy 1971 house.

Hi, girlwithtools, I don't want to make you feel bad, but I pulled the trigger with Appliance Connection 8 months ago (not knowing their bad reputation) on a WP 6068 Plus White at $1,099 and they did a fine job shipping it for free to me in Michigan's Upper Peninsula about two weeks later. It was in perfect shape in its original packaging. I paired it with the most basic Miele Heat Pump dryer because it's on an interior wall. I plumbed the small diameter drain hose from the dryer down the washer drain opening next to the larger washer drain hose so I don't have to empty the condenser drawer of the dryer after each load. (It's an option on the dryer to do so with the drain hose.) I really love the washer, as I'm sure you do, too. The instruction manual for the washer didn't explain how to get into the "Supervisor Settings" menus to customize my washer, such as to allow 5 rinses after a wash or higher water levels. If you go to the Appliance Connection result after googling PW 6068 Plus, Appliance Connection lets you click on the complete instruction manual, including instructions on how to go into the Supervisor Level of Settings. It's self explanatory once you're in there, after you learn that the factory default code to get in is "000". The complete instruction manual explains how to enter that code using the program wheel and button. Anyway, I love my washer and dryer.

I just bumbled back to this thread and I am so happy for you (that the deal was legit)!! I still love ours. I will check their website for the supervisor instructions.
