Friday's blooms in KY

Make it Snappy is new this year, and starting with a bang. It actually bloomed yesterday, but I just glanced at it an assumed it was Black Falcon Ritual which is right beside it. Huge flower, I was not expecting it to be quite so dark, but I do like it

Cat's Cradle. It is getting choked by bigger daylilies, guess I need to get that moved

BAli Watercolor has really short scapes this year, but the petals seem wider and more substantial this year

Clown Parade, not so pretty in full sun but gorgeous in person

Dr Jules Michael Vinckman. I do like this one. Hillbilly Heart grows right beside it and this one has a bigger flower and makes HH look all faded out. I will have to move that one too

The more I see Exotic Starfish, the more I like it. I guess will go on the never ending list of daylilies to add to the garden. I also grew Hillbilly Heart and currently grow Dr. Jules. Dr. Jules is the superior plant and Hillbilly Heart is no longer in my garden. Can't keep everything due to space and time.

Make It Snappy did open with a bang! What a beautiful flower! Lots of pretty ones here-Exotic Starfish looks good, and you are correct about Clown Parade-it does look good in person!! Black Falcon Ritual gave you a nice clump!

Make It Snappy is gorgeous, and that clump of Black Falcon Ritual is quite impressive. I think Clown Parade looks great in your sun shot. It certainly has multiplied for you! I always like Dr. Jules and Exotic Starfish.

What keeps making me look is how big Make it Snappy is, 9" flower, and it has to be at least that, I need to measure it, cause it seems bigger than Exotic Starfish which was close to it. Maybe just more spread out, really gets attention.

Make it Snappy, Black Falcon Ritual and Clown Parade get my votes this time around.

Does your Bali get many buds? Mine generally doesn't. And the height of mine really varies by year.

Make It Snappy and Black Falcon Ritual would be hard to choose from in my small garden as they are both gorgeous. I guess it would come down to who was the most colorfast in our heat and the most productive. Really nice.............Maryl

I like Make it Snappy and clown Parade is always a favorite. Exotic Starfish I a showoff like clown parade here too.

Brad, I remember height being an issue occasionally, not too often. Not a high bud count. I went out and counted earlier. For some reason I only have 3 scapes, several fans to the clump. The best one had 9 buds, the other 2 had 7 ea.

Maryl, both have held their color in all day sun, but then it has not been really hot since they started blooming, low 80s.

So good to know that Exotic starfish is a good plant, Kay. I hope mine shows off as well as yours does in time.

I like Dr Jules Michael Vinkman. We grow it too but ours is not doing well this year. Kansas Kitten is also nice. Exotic Starfish is one we are going to have to add.
