My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
I posted on the gray hair thread.. I am ok some days and not as ok others, all to be expected.
we had arranged months ago to have extensive work done on this house here in VA. We went ahead and let them start now as we would lose our place in line , it’s so hard to get the best folks as they are really in demand, and it’s helpful to have this project to take my mind off all the painful thoughts that come up.
nights are the worst with memories of my son’s condition, before he died, coming up. It’s going to be a long process of learning to cope .
Thank you....I hadn't seen much of the gray hair thread, so went back & read it all. I like what your hair is doing & it will be fun to see how it ends up! My hair is silver/white & I really like it. I colored it for years, having quite a lot of grey in my early 30's. Then when we moved into our current home 14 years ago, my colorist took my hair quite short & lighter to do the grow out to gray. I could be more incognito while it did its' thing!! Gray hair runs in my family & our kids got grey early too. Good luck with your home project & I'm sure it's nice to have that to focus on right now. Continued prayers for you & your family....
Thank you. DH made me get out on the bike and ride in the countryside. It's so beautiful with the hay fields and the mountains and Buffalo creek. I was fine till we rode past a cabin we rented 9 years ago at Thanksgiving long before we were planning to come live here. Garett came and we had a great time for part of it and some of it was not the best. I got pretty upset. Flashbacks are always hard....I appreciate the sincere wishes from all of you. c
I fought back difficult memories of my mother for years, since she died in a rather tragic accident. When the horrors of her death hit me, I worked hard to replace those thoughts with positive memories or positive actions in her name or just positive gratitude for things I had received from my mom over the years. Not a magic bullet, but I did it because my mother was a relentless optimist so I did it in honor of her, and also I think that no one wants to be significantly remembered just as they were in their tragic last days, or have their loved ones feel bad because of them. It doesn't stop the grief or the missing, but it might stop the depression or traumatic symptoms that could crop up at times like this. I am so sorry you are having to go through this TR. BIG virtual HUG and healing vibe send out from me in MI.
