HELP ARRANGING SECTIONAL, WALL COLOR, FIREPLACE

My husband talked me into this sofa and lounge thing and I hate it (Just delivered yesterday so maybe it will grow on me?. I like the color of the lounge but it just looks so random next to the sofa. The sofa seems so big and I am not a fan of the color. I really hate how tall the back of the sofa is. New rug and wall colors are a must! Any suggestions on what color to paint the walls? Is there any other way I could arrange the furniture? Also any tips on redoing the fireplace and replacing the fan with a chandelier or light fixture would be appreciated. Picture of new floors we are getting below.

You'll get used to it! Who is the chaise for? If not for him to watch TV, then try it in the master bedroom or a sunroom. The floors have a rusticity to them, so I don't think the overly modern seating will work with them. You'll want to go rustic/natural with the fireplace too. The only pieces I see that will work with that rustic vibe are the window mirror and the cat tree!

The sofa seems to fit the space well. I would consider replacing the lounger with a reclining chair. It would provide the same comfort and wouldn't have to be bulky.

The shower in the guest bath flooded so it messed up the floors in the living room and the playroom.

The sectional is a good fit for the room. (A lot buy huge bulky pieces). Treat the gray as a neutral. Paint the walls white: look at BM Cloud 9; White Dove; Simply White; Chantilly Lace; Dune White. Choice will depend on light in the room. Move the large art from over the FP to over the longest side of the sectional. About 5" above the back. Use colors from the art for accents. Remove the black/white pillows. If the chaise is returnable change it for a chair in similar to the sectional.

Why did hubby want it? Does he intend to lay on it to watch tv? It looks uncomfortable as heck to me. It looks like you have three very large pieces of furniture in this room: sectional, chaise, and entertainment center. It looks crowded. Is it?

We are a family of 5 and the chaise is for the kids to lay on to watch tv. So the floors that I picked out will be too rustic for the sofa?

I think the floors are not the right vibe for the new furniture. But those pieces are a bit modern for your TV cabinet unit, window mirror, console. Are you trying to go in a more modern direction?

The chaise is for the kidS to watch tv on? Never would have worked at my house (He’s touching me! He’s over the line! He’s looking at me!). Good luck.

LOL my kids are the same! Which is why we tried to get something else because we knew the sectional wouldn't be enough for our family (plus our house seems to be the hangout house for the neighborhood). I like more of the rustic, farmhouse, traditional, and glamours style which is why I am having a hard time with the sofa. I guess I like a mixture of styles but modern isn't one. I feel like it goes with nothing in my house.

The chaise and the high console are definitely going to go. The TV cabinet is a built in so that will be a little bit before I can remove that. Is there anyway to incorporate the rustic farmhouse look with the sofa or is it just to modern? Maybe farmhouse style coffee table or end table? If no I think I am just going to have to see if I can resell it.
