It looks like it is a storage space as well...just guessing those hurricane lamps and candles aren't his! If you can relocate the white cabinet somewhere else (garage?) and use it for storage of non man-cave things, that would help, along with the file storage boxes. Then you would have a set of shelves already existing for his things.

As it looks like there is a desk there, can he use that instead of the table? It seems there would be room to put the oak file cabinet between the desk and the window wall. That might free up some space.

Without the white cabinet, you could do a sturdy shelf (or shelves), or a narrow unit there for a TV. He could just spin the chair around to watch TV. Add a small ottoman (they even have small ones where the lid comes off for storage) and he can prop his feet up to watch.

Paint the walls his favorite color. Done!

Get him one of these to go with it. Lol.
