Winding down from peak

last modified: 6 years ago

Many have finished for the season and some are beginning rebloom but the peak is over. Beginning to evaluate and make some plans for moving plants. Here are a few from the past few days.

Kay has pushed and dragged me into UFs and spiders. :) She shared many of hers with me to accomplish that goal!

Garden Butterfly has the shape and form I most like

Eminent Domain from Laura

Edge of Chaos- surprisingly one I bought years ago!

Astral Voyager

Unshakable Kingdom-I love the early morning color on this one-fades in sun

Lydia’s Royal Robe-one of my new favs-deep color in the morning that fades to this color in the heat

Winter Romance -a favorite late bloomer

Lady Duck

RaspberrySuede-another dark that holds up well in the heat

This is a noid that really opened dark on a cool morning

Kate, what a luscious color on that noid, so nice! I love Garden Butterfly today, what a wonderful photo of it. Winter a Romance is really nice, I have an early bloomer that looks similar.

That NOID is pretty impressive! Garden Butterfly and Winter Romance tie as my favorites. Unshakable Kingdom and Lydias Regal Robes are the runners up. They are all lovely!

GArden Butterfly is on my wish list, and staying right there after your picture. Winter Romance is really pretty too.

    Kate,

Welcome to the world of UFs and spiders. I held out for many years, but a fellow hemaholic was really into spiders and he would gift me a couple and that is all it took. This same friend is now into doubles and I am holding out. Garden Butterfly looks wonderful. I have never seen that one before.

Beautiful! I can't seems to post anything but as a comment. I notice you are in zone 7 also and must ask if you trade daylilies? I have a list that I am going to be dividing and wanted to trade.

I like your dark purples. I've just about given up on them because of how they look in my climate (99% maroon for one thing). Mary's Baby has been so superior to any of them that I almost stopped at her (bought a new purple out of guilt late this year). I also appreciate your information on the color as the day heats up. Lydia's Royal Robe is one I like quite a bit and Raspberry Suede is nice too. We will see what next year brings.........................Maryl

General reflections on comments: the dark noid was spectacular that morning. It had several in all different directions so I only too that one shot. It is normally dark anyway but the cool really made a difference. Maryl, your photos of Mary’s Baby encouraged me to add that one. I have added quite a few UFs to the garden-some I like, some may grow on me, and some I wonder why they were registered! A matter of taste, I know! Garden Butterfly is a definite keeper! Thanks for the comments.

Kate, Garden Butterfly is really beautiful, by far my favorite. The dark ones are really nice. So many don't hold up to the heat.
