You can place your bed anywhere that makes sense to you. It's your room. :) To help you decide, you could play around with your furniture layout on paper which is much easier on the back than moving big pieces around a room. Draw out your room's dimensions on graph paper and cut out your bed, bench and other pieces and see what makes sense to you. Your bed frame is a pretty minimalistic style so I wouldn't see that as a focal point. Sounds as if the view is your focal point. In any case, the idea of a focal point can't drive the decor decisions all the time. It's a fleeting element of life in our interiors.

Your bed frame could actually float in the middle of the room on a striking area rug. Look for a rug that is two feet larger than the bed on all sides. It would be quite something!
