It was somewhat cloudy all day, so I was able to get pictures after everything opened up.

On a down side, my nice Panasonic camera is acting up. I have to restart it over and over sometimes to get it to take pictures. Too bad my computer knowledge doesn't carry over to cameras.

Thoroughbred Daylilies [Rice] is open. Unfortunately they are only open by appointment. I don't like that method. It puts the pressure on to buy since I'm taking up their time, and lots of his are out of my price range. I guess I'll call and see if there will be an open house at all, or if I can come when others are coming.

Abundant Joy. Not it's first bloom, but the first one worth photographing. One of my daughter Brianna's favorites.

Pastures of Pleasure. It is small but so pretty it is always a keeper.

A sister to the seedling that wouldn't really open. Jolyene Nichole x Smoky Mt. Autumn. Has potential. Only 2 buds this year. The green deep in really glows.

I have been growing FORSYTH FLYING DRAGON for several years now and it is a slow increaser for me. How quickly does it increase for you?

Sugar Magnolia looks very good as does Forsysth Flying Dragon. Hope the camera issue gets resolved.

Gorgeous color on Strutters Ball. Sugar a Magnolia does look wonderful today. Nice seedling, hope yo see more of it in the future, more buds would be great.

David, My FFD is very slow to increase. After many years, it is not much more than when I got it. It is not the best bloomer, either, though this year looks like it will do well. It is also often way too short. Am I talking myself out of it? Not quite.

Thanks for the feedback Brad, as I am in the same boat with you on FFD. I moved mine to a raised bed near my vegetable garden and it gets extra water and more sun than it used to. It may be a goner after this year.

I like the pale melon color on your seedling. I've been waiting for your pictures of Smokey Mountain Autumn to tempt me again and I can see it's heritage in your seedling.........I can't pick a favorite out of your others. I really like the color on so many of them.....I hope your camera starts working if you go to Thoroughbred (Rice). Like you, those new prices are out of my price range, but I do like to see them as they are in a garden setting........Maryl

I got the word that Brianna doesn't like Abundant Joy anymore! I was keeping it for her. Not a good plant, extremely short and often down in the leaves. When I need the spot, goodbye!

Maryl, Smoky should be blooming in about a week. I think my next cross will be Smoky Mt. Autumn and Beryl Quinn. BQ is such a superior plant and also has hints of multi-colors in its very pretty main color, good form, substance, reliable, etc. Could be interesting.

Lots of nice ones here. Staying or going, FFD gave you a photogenic bloom! Sugar Magnolia is pretty and I agree Strutters Ball is hard to capture-much more intense in person.

Sugar Magnolia has not started blooming yet here, but should any day now I think. So pretty, it was new last year and looks like it is going to have more blooms this year. I am really liking Forsythe Flying Dragon
